  • Discuss different Waveforms and treatments. 

    Length: 4 hours course (non CEU earning).

    This activity includes a review of capnography, including key terms; description of the physiology surrounding its application; a discussion of normal end tidal CO2 values, as well as a review of normal and abnormal waveforms.

The activity will:

  • Describe common capnography terms 
  • Describe capnography
  • Summarize normal respiratory physiology
  • Review the differences between oxygenation and ventilation
  • Identify basic capnography waveforms

Capnography during non-invasive procedures:

  • Provide an overview of capnography monitoring during noninvasive ventilation (NIV). This activity includes an overview of NIV, including the goals of and indications for NIV. It also contains results of current studies that show ease of use, comfort and reliability of capnography
  • Describe non-invasive ventilation (NIV)
  • Explain the goals of NIV.
  • List of some indications for NIV
  • Describe current studies that show ease of use, comfort and reliability of capnography during NIV.

Capnography for the intubated and non-intubated in Pre-hospital Care.

This education module has three parts: Basic definitions in capnography, Capnography for the intubated patient in pre-hospital care and Capnography for the non-intubated patient in prehospital care.
