The course contains risk factors of stroke, recognition, and assessment and case management along with some basic medical science in Pathophysiology.

It is presented in an E-Learning format (online)

Duration:

Course requires 2 - 3 hours to complete.  No skills session is required.

Certification:

Students can access downloadable Certificate of Completion.

CEU:

The current course is available for learning, but does not offer CE/CME credit.

Acute Stroke - Online

Acute Stroke Online course is a self-paced continuing education course that provides training on the symptoms, diagnosis and management of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke and complications of stroke. 

The course is for Hospital personnel providing in and out patient services, particularly experienced healthcare providers who are involved in the care and treatment of stroke victims.

Course content:

The course is for in- and out-of-hospital personnel, particularly experienced healthcare providers who are involved in the care and treatment of suspected stroke victims.

Course Content includes Recognition of Stroke, Pathophysiology of stroke, risk factors, Stroke chain of survival, 7 D’s of stroke survival, Definitions of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke,   Stroke management and transition to critical care and rehabilitation

Duration:

E-Learning, this course is online and web based, requires approximately 1-2 hours and no skill session required.

It includes:

·         11 checkpoint exercises with review questions

·         Online test and evaluation

·         Self-paced learning, accessible anytime

·         Expands on the AHA Stroke Algorithm

·         Access to course for 12 months allows for ongoing refresher

Online - Bloodborne Pathogens

Course content:

This course is provided in accordance to the AHA’s guidelines using the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, and Tell) to help students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens training.

This course is tailored for Vocational instructors, Correctional Officers, Childcare workers, Security Guards, Maintenance workers, School personnel, Hotel Housekeepers, Health and Fitness Club Staff , individuals in professions with a risk of exposure to body fluids and the use of invasive tools.

Students learn how to:

• Protect themselves from exposure to bloodborne pathogens
• Act when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace
• Clean themselves and the area when exposed to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace
• Tell or report any exposure to blood or blood-containing materials in the workplace

This course is available online or a Classroom-based utilizing video as an instructional tool followed by hands on training and skills conducted throughout the session. Designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction

• Available for first-time or renewal bloodborne pathogens training.

The E-Learning (online lessons), Students complete a series of online lessons and interactive questions. No skills session is required.
